Dre Parker is the central protagonist of the 2010 film "The Karate Kid". He moved from Detroit to Beijing, China because of his mom had a job transfer. Despite the title, as it is a remake of the franchise (most of which stars Ralph Macchio and the late Pat Morita), the martial arts in this remake is not karate, but rather, kung fu. Like his original counterpart, Daniel LaRusso, he takes martial arts lessons after being bullied. He is taught by Mr. Han. He is portrayed by Jaden Smith.
